About me

Hi, I'm Debi, a photographer based in Berlin, Germany.

When I was a little girl I liked paper maps, playing at driving a car with an uncertain destination, and imagining places and destinations I had never heard of.
I invented languages, chose their outfits, looked for the best light and recorded from a camera without film and through the viewfinder that trip, that story, those models and protagonists, in the splendor and in the very misery.

Along with my passport, my camera is and was part of my luggage. Traveling I portray different cultures, landscapes, beautiful animals, details of nature. It is a constant inner search, glances that connect me with a greater understanding than we are used to, contemplations of infinite seas, bridges that lead us to the unknown, labyrinths where you can’t see the end, dream houses, and many meanings that I would understand later when life would lead me to go even deeper with my own images.

The genes of love for photography and the light that a camera can bring with it were transmitted by my grandfather and my father. But it was traveling that I realized and didn’t stop: Focusing on all the road and places I traveled, all the answers came from there, from inside me, I just had to look deeper and focus.
The powerful camera, my most precious instrument. The compass, to find outside: those stories and journeys that I imagined or could imagine were and are there, and allow me to create, identify, know and discover myself.

In all these years, photography became a big puzzle, where all the single images seemed to say nothing, and when I started to put them together I realized that they told a lot about me and my way of perceiving life.
Today I am a photographer, I am Debi, and I am also a being who likes to offer the tools that life and experience left me and continues to leave me.

This is my world, in constant growth, the one I want to share with you.
